Motor Incapatabilities?
I finally found the original motor for a VV-XI tabletop. I am excited. I have heard that when I swap out the current quad-cut motor from the machine, that there will be issues with the turntable? Is this true?

One of course has double cut gears and the other is quad cut...other than that they look the same to me.soundgen wrote:What's the difference ? They look the same
I heard some say that the crank is different and the turntable does not go on, not sure if this is accurate.

I believe the same turntable will fit both spindle shafts. Do both spindles extend the same distance above the casting? Jerry Blais

What was your reason for swapping? They look to be the same motor, other than gearing.
The quad cut motor is (said to be) smoother running than the double cut.
Just curious....

Someone swapped out the motor. The table VV-XI should have a double cut motor.Wes K wrote:What was your reason for swapping? They look to be the same motor, other than gearing.

Hi Jerry:Jerry B. wrote:Do both spindles extend the same distance above the casting? Jerry Blais
I am not sure yet, the motor has not arrived. I have heard of this issue with Victor III motors and the later motors not being compatible. I will let you know when it arrives.
All the best,
Jerry P.

I can foresee no problems with this swap.

The motor arrived today, and it works great! No issues just a swap out. This motor surprised me, it is double cut and is whisper quiet.
