They cut a slot in the top for a crank. Does south America have a factory like India??? Lot of work on that one...I am trying to figure out which expensive pine they used for the case..

This is an RCA Victor Victrola by Tomas Alba de Edison from February 1884... :lol:

It has a Columbia Viva Tonal reproducer on it (not sure which one, it kind of resembles the No. 9, but I believe it is one of the earlier Viva Tonal Reproducers, probably pot metal..)

The tonearm is from a Victor Orthophonic portable, most likely a 2-55. And the motor is also from a Victor portable. I think it's the export version of the Victor portable single-spring motor.

Where are the "de Edison" parts and when did he have a factory in Camden, NJ :?: :roll:

What is that on the turntable??? Is it a cover, rug, cardboard, thick felt, new invention by Tomas Alba Edison that was not successful ???? Tom B
