Hexaphone

Post by bobkolba »

I have been collecting and repairing Hexaphones for years and have always been impressed with the intricate mechanisms of these treasures. However, one design decision has always left me baffled on the 102 and 103 models. The rubber connector to the horn and reproducer mechanism requires different inside dimensions. Duct tape works well but there has to be a better way. Any advice will be appreciated.

Wow, congratulations for being able to collect Hexaphones and for having the technical prowess to repair them. I don't know what diameter rubber connector you are talking about, but I had a similar problem with connecting a Pathé reproducer to the tonearm. I used a thick automotive radiator hose (3-ply) and carved out the inside to fit the larger diameter connector. Hope that helps.
