Post by saxymojo »

Hi

I have an Edison dance reproducer, the silk connecting cord is no more, does anyone repair these?

Cheers Marcel

Yes, Steve Medved is probably the world's best at restoring Edison reproducers.

Steve has rebuilt one of my Edison Diamond Disc reproducers and it works and sounds amazing. He replaced the diamond point with a new one which I believe is the best diamond you can get. He also uses a a new diaphragm which is made by Larry, a member on the forum. Steve is very knowledgeable about Edison reproducers and has a lot of research and information. Steve provided me with so much information on Edison reproducers and my particular reproducer.

According to Steve, my reproducer is a rarer late model standard and was made around 1927, in fact he is so meticulous on how is it rebuilt, everything is down to a micrometer (stylus bars etc.).

I believe you will be happy about the work that he does on your reproducer.

Has anyone heard from Steve lately? I'm waiting for two of mine to come back and he's not been in touch with me for awhile.
