My apologies for hi-jacking this thread, but what do you all think of this one? Original or reproduction? I did start a separate thread on it but only got one reply, which suggested that it is a reproduction.
The top front screw is clearly a modern replacement, but as to the rest I would welcome your comments.

Ya' all are comparing 4 screw closed face reproducers with the one on ebay, which is 3 screws. These came with and without needle guards. Both can be correct. There were no 3 screw reproductions of this reproducer that I know of. The reproductions made in the 1970's were 4 screw. I have one, and can see if I can take a photo. Also, I will see if I have any original 3 screw reproducers on my machines, so we can compare apples to apples.

George's 3 screw reproducer, which is incomplete, should have a needle guard on it. You can see where the screw holes are.

Regardless of it being a 3 or 4 screw design or with or without needle guard is irrelevant. The main suspect issue with this 'listed' reproducer is in the design of and how the needle bar is attached to the main body. This is of a Clark-Johnson 'patented' design and therefore incorrect for a Zonophone reproducer.

In my opinion...an artificially aged and inaccurate reproduction.

Anyone familiar with "private listing - bidders' identities protected" bidding on ebay? That is what is used in this auction. Do I have a reason to be uneasy about this? Seems it would be a way to have shill bidding? Please educate me!

Okay..., I got it backwards. It was the 3 screw reproducer that was made in the '70's as a reproduction. I have enclosed photographs of my original 3 screw with needle bar guard, and my 1970's reproduction 3 screw reproducer.

The original is always on the right, and is the one with the needle bar guard! The diameter of the reproducers is 1 and ⅞ inches. The long throat is 1 and ⅜ inches long. I e-mailed the ebay auction and have been informed that the sound box they have is 1 and ⅝ inches in diameter, and the the long throat is 1 and ¼ inches. The inside of the box shown in the auction says "spare Zono" we think? So..., the question may be, did they have different reproducers in the UK? The leather elbow with the metal tightening band I have only seen on European models.
