Need Help Edison B60 Horn Removal

Hello,

I am restoring an Edison B60. The cabinet is rough enough that I am taking it apart to re-glue and clamp veneer as well as do some structural repairs. I am a bit confounded by the horn. For the B60 the only way I can see to remove the horn for repairs is to unsolder the rod that goes through the middle of it. Am I missing something? I know the B80 assembles in quite a different way than the B60. Any advice on my horn?

I'VE DONE THIS! There is a pin that needs to be driven out of the knob on the top, and this should allow you to remove the knob. No un soldering needed.

Thanks. I looked at removing the pin which would then remove the large knob. I still am not sure how that helps.

From the photo you can see the top of the rod that travels through the horn A.
The very top of the rod is compressed into the flat piece that the knob and the pin connects to B.
That flat top of the rod B will not pass through the hole in the cast iron horn support C.

Since the cast-iron horn support cannot be fed through the wooden bedplate, I can't the the horn through that hole either to remove it. I tried to determine if the flattened part of the rod B is removable from the rest of the rod that travels vertically through the horn, but from everything I can determine it is all the same piece of metal.

This cast-iron horn support which is screwed to the top of the wooden bedplate in the B60 is distinctively different in the construction of the B80.

Again, maybe I'm missing something. Give my photo a look and tell me if I have this wrong.
