Another wildly implausible line caught my scrutiny; "The horn was polished (cost $ 1,200.00 )"

I'm in the wrong business. Apparently I should be a horn polisher.

I was thinking this myself. I could work one day a week and be livin' the life. Two or three days a week and I'd need the Donald's accountant.

This seller's world isn't like the others. Someone mentioned a couple negative FBs relating to phono stuff but it's way deeper than this, because there were two other (at least) IDs before that either got shut down by eBay or he walked away from to start over.

He just says stuff off the top of his head and I'm sort of surprised he even bothered changing the description. Maybe he is mellowing out.

It is unusual for me to post a message at all on this forum, and totally unlike me to post the one that follows, but extreme circumstances require such posts. I will be brief and anyone needing further details can contact me. I have pictures as well.

antqedison5947 (who also uses the account abchelenabc) is at it again. And this time the collecting community must be warned.

I was in contact with the original owner of this machine on this forum in early October and have since spoken to three collectors who were actually at Stanton's when this machine was sold to antqedison5947. At that time the machine was working just as the member above reported.

Somewhere along the way antqedison5947 severely damaged the machine and especially the reproducer. The weight was ripped out, the hinge twisted and bent over, the hinge tab sheared off, the hole for the hinge pin ripped out, the limit screw was lost, and its threaded hole was torn out like I had never seen before. Pure barbarism.

edison5947 sent it initially to Steve Medved but Steve immediately contacted me because he could not handle such a technically difficult repair. I have performed many such repairs for Steve and did the work as a favor to Steve. After finishing the work I sent it back to antqedison5947 and he promptly mistreated it and damaged it AGAIN.

He has now (as of earlier today) started to part out the machine and had the reproducer listed on eBay. I contacted him AGAIN like last time to remove my name from his listing and got this reply: "no way take a hike ". Needless to say eBay will be dealing with him.

My advice is to stay far, far away from anything to do with that machine and reproducer. I hate to have to report information like this because I do not have the luxury of spending much time at all to post and interact with members of this forum as I really wish. But I am compelled to make this information clearly known.

In cases such as this, I believe it best to not pussy-foot around and just go ahead and identify who this person is by naming them. Part of the problem with our hobby is that we have many "wolves in sheep's clothing" lurking around every turn, taking any oportunity possible to rip people off. Maybe if we simply just bring these crooks out in the open, they will just go away.

So... who is this guy? I don't want to buy anything from him, either online or at a show... or anything he sold to someone else.

Sorry Walt,
But I don't see any specific ID of the person mentioned other than acronyms...
