Horn question
Has there been a topic covered already about how to tell an original horn from a reproduction?

It depends on what type of horn you mean.
There are threads about original vs. reproduction "witches' hat" horns on cylinder phonographs... as for other types, I am not sure.
Generally, if it's not a common type (such as Edison or Victor horns), it's less likely to be a reproduction.
