Wow! A stunning machine and crate. Both look immaculate.

WOW - why would anyone keep the crate? Most I assume were burned for fire wood back then

It's hard to say from the photos, but it almost looks like the machine came out of the crate recently judging by the shine on that finish. Either way, what a great addition to someone's collection. I thought I was lucky enough to have a single panel from one of those crates!

I agree! If I were only closer...I'd LOVE to own that combo!HisMastersVoice wrote:It's hard to say from the photos, but it almost looks like the machine came out of the crate recently judging by the shine on that finish. And...only $600 over-priced.

Re: Stunning Edison Chippendale with Original Crate
I suppose that's entirely dependant on how much someone might desire what looks to be an Edison Chippendale that was just recently taken out of it's incredibly well-preserved packing crate; as if it were just shipped from the factory last week. This is the best of the best for a very common machine.Hailey wrote:And...only $600 over-priced.

Re: Stunning Edison Chippendale with Original Crate
I think I paid $100 for my C-19 crate panel at Wayne several years ago. At that price, one could assume the value of the crate itself would be at least $400...more given that it is complete. For the machine alone, I agree that the price is steep, but the (I assume) "numbers matching" crate really increases the value in my opinion.

And, IF this is actually the original crate WITH all of the original packing materials, instructions, and unpacking documents, that increases the value as well.HisMastersVoice wrote:I think I paid $100 for my C-19 crate panel at Wayne several years ago.
