Very nice condition!! All original except for the cord. Cord has been replaced with new old stock. Still has Edison original smooth running motor. Everything seems to work great 500.00 + 70.00 shipping. [email protected]

Nice Beautiful example of an electric model.. I sold a much rarer Mechanical Model "D" 1907 one for $400 but it needed a bedplate resto and was missing the recorder otherwise complete for $400 a few months ago.

Yours is in nice shape though.

The drawback to these machines is their functionality.. They are not very practical as players though, don't get very much use, run at 80 RPMs.. and just pretty much sit on a shelf. A great conversation piece though and a great part of history...Great for sitting in a Museum window..

I think that yours is missing the Metering Bar?... The fat bar that measures the speed of dictation...if I am not correct.

Good luck with the sale.

:o)

Here are a few pictures of my Edison Business Machine Model-D from 1905. It is a beautiful machine to look at and is one of my favorite machines. You can record on it using standard dictaphone cylinders. I especially like the brown wax Cylinders. The machine ran on either AC or DC. You would make that selection on the coil on the rear of the machine. I also included a picture of the machines recording horn. This machine is fully functioning and runs very good. I also have a spare new set of reproducer and recorder still in the original shipping box.

The spectacle should move freely. It lifts up and down and moves from side to side to choose either the recorder or the reproducer. I think it has a great look mainly due to the amount of the chrome surfaces.
