Victor Rigid Arm Elbow Repair #4
This one had the most damage. I was able to get it all straightened and soldered some re-enforcing straps of brass to the inside. The cracks look bad but with the straps added inside, it is very strong. I tried this one also on my MS with the large brass horn and it is very stable.

Well, now we know what happened to all of the extra rigid arm elbows in the country... they all ended up at your house...

I wanted to see if I could take care of the very visible cracks now that the elbow is straightened. I used a Dremel tool with a wire wheel to clean out the cracks. Then I used some soldering flux and silver solder to coat the cracked area. After some sanding, they came out pretty good. I need to do a little more sanding and buffing yet. I ordered a brass brush plating kit from Caswell Plating also to cover the silver solder. I will post more pictures once the kit comes and I give it a try. This has been a fun and learning experience. So far, the results are coming out pretty well to save this rare Victor elbow.

I just received the brass brush plate kit from Caswell today. I used it on the Victor Rigid Arm elbow that I had to do the most repairs on. I am very impressed with how the brush plating turned out on the silver solder. This has been a very rewarding and learning experience. The last thing I need to do is to get into the creases and do some more cleaning and polishing.

Most of the Rigid Arm elbows I have seen are cracked or bent pretty bad. If anyone has a bad Rigid Arm elbow, I would gladly go into more detail of how to repair it. Just PM me. Or, send me pictures of what you have and maybe I could fix it for you.
