I agreee with you there Frank. If you were to only have one cylinder machine a 2/4 Triumph would be a top choice, better yet with a a large carriage.De Soto Frank wrote:I would have to get rid of all my other cylinder players; so for me, to have only one, it would have to be a 2 & 4.

I agree with your point, I think that for such a substantial machine, many would expect to play both 2/4 minute cylinders. However, this is a very nice machine, and appears in great condition after the cleaning and servicing. I believe it will sell, as some collectors do like machines which have not been converted for 2/4 minute cylinders.De Soto Frank wrote:alang wrote:It came out beautiful, Wyatt. I don't understand why it hasn't sold yet. Especially now that the dirty work is done.
Andreas
I think the only thing slowing the sale is that it's two-minute only.
If it were a 2&4, it would have been snapped-up in a flash. At least that was my reason for not jumping on it.
It is beautiful, and deserving of the best home.

Actually, it's exactly what I'm looking for, but the seller doesn't want to ship it.(I don't blame him ) Anyone heading to the left coast?De Soto Frank wrote:

Well, that's why I haven't been after it beyond admiring how beautifully it cleaned up.Valecnik wrote:I agreee with you there Frank. Cleaning continues. What I thought was a stain in the bedplate frame was actually more tar!!! Started detailing corners and edges and took more tar off in this FIFTH cleaning!!! Y'all better hope I don't get bored tomorrow and start touching up the decal!!!!!
Seriously though, I'm having fun.

Wyatt,
What a beautiful machine! It is really an outstanding
job you are doing on this one.
Just out of curiosity, what would all of the required
steps be, if one wanted to convert a machine of this type
to be able to shift between 2 minute and 4 minute format?
I suspect it would require a whole different mandrel
plus the little add-on planetary gear pulley which allows changing the feed. However, I am totally unfamiliar with this as far as doing it. I only know what I've read about here on the forum.
So, just for the sake of knowing a bit more about this
subject, I decided to ask you because I'm sure you've
done many of them.
Thanks, Chuck
