unknown part

Post by Stefke »

I just became the owner of an HMV 104A.
I've been looking to buy one of these for years know, but I am new to all this.

This will be a silly question to the most of you : but what is the use of the things that are in the yellow markings in the picture?
(I think to hold needlecases?)

Those were used to hold the relatively thin tungsten (HMV Tungstyle) needle boxes.
