Question about Edison Standard Mandrels
Can a mandrel from a Standard B be used on a Standard D? I'm not asking about the mandrel shaft, just the mandrel. What obstacles are there? Thanks, Jerry Blais

Re: Question about Edison Standard Mandrels
No, I don't think it will fit. I believe the shaft is longer with a Model D. I think the Model B shaft is too short, and the wrong diameter. Don't forget the little dimple on the end of the Model B to accommodate the end gate. If you have a spare one, try it out and let us know.

Re: Question about Edison Standard Mandrels
Never tried it but as Harvey says it would depend on the shafts diameter. The end with the extension might be different too. It could work though because Edison always wanted to use stuff up and the measurement could be the same for less manufacturing of parts. Mic it out. using a micrometer and that might lead you in the right direction. Tom B
