Other than brute force and vise-grips, is there a standard technique that is best to use for this very common malady?
I'm guessing the first step is always to douse the area with penetrating oil, but what's next?
Thanks.

Search the board for "Edison Home frozen bearing" or "Edison Home stuck mandrel shaft" or similar.
Also try searching for "muriatic acid" as that is one of the more common techniques.
