Nice machine, what model is it? Have you ever been recording and had the clock start chiming?

Thanks Dave,

The machine is an A250. It is one of my favorites.

There's a lever on the clock movement to shut off the chimes. I don't always remember though. Since the clock chimes every 15 minutes, I've had to re-record a few. If the music is in a loud enough passage it covers most of the clock noise. I guess I'm not terribly fussy about the recording either. If you listen closely in a few of my videos you might hear wife banging pots in the kitchen, kids talking in background etcetera :monkey:

It's amzing how much nicer the oak version of the A-250 looks than my more common mahogany one. I need to find one in oak someday.

I do like the oak ones, espeically the "tiger striped" look like this one has. That being said, I can understand why the mahogany ones sold so much better. They have that richer look when all polished out. Ironic that oak was viewed as so common that few people wanted it even though it looked great. Everyone was trying to model themselves after the Vanderbuilts and Rockerfellers I guess.

it's a 3 weighter. Maker of the movement is "Suchy und Sohn, Wien". My clock repair guy tells me that they started out in Vienna, (Wien) and later moved to Prague.
