Considering that it will cost me $70 for shipping.
Is this something that would typically be seen on a Standard D?
My offer of $130 was declined.

$200 plus shipping seems pretty high to me, unless it's a completely spotless original, which this one is not.
I have a decent one I could offer you. PM me to discuss.

Too much. Your offer of $130 was a generous one, considering the cost of shipping.

Agree with all the above. Be patient. They are out there and are a lot cheaper than this.

When buying I always take into consideration the cost of shipping as part of the price. Three hundred is a bit up there.. Tom B

My offer would have been $200 including shipping but your point is taken.tomb wrote:When buying I always take into consideration the cost of shipping as part of the price. Three hundred is a bit up there.. Tom B

Re: Is this a fair price?
I actually like the looks of this style horn over a cygnet horn and I seem to understand this is what would have been the most typical horn to go with the Standard machine (correct me if I'm wrong on that).
Disregarding shipping, what would a ballpark figure be on an average Standard horn with good patent emblem?
Any opinion on the choice between an averagely priced original horn vs. a pristine reproduction?
I'm thinking that something shiny and "new" looking will clash badly with the "patina" of my machine.

My thought, $80 - $120.CMcPherson wrote:I actually like the looks of this style horn over a cygnet horn and I seem to understand this is what would have been the most typical horn to go with the Standard machine (correct me if I'm wrong on that).

Reproduction: No value to me.

Hi Chris,
I second the other forum member. 130 was very generous. You can usually pick up really nice Standard horns under 100 at Union or Stantons. I have a very clean one that I would be willing to part with for under 100 if you are ever in Ohio. The shipping to Virginia would probably be around 60 bucks at the cheapest so picking up locally is most cost effective.
