Re: FOR SALE: Two New Cylinders From the CLPGS
Looking forward to hear both on my Amberola 1B. Thanks for issuing these.
By the way I prefer the these single selections over the composits. Would prefer the composits as two records in two minute format so as to be able to play them on a two minute machine. Anyway excellent work!

Dear Valecnik,
I've got your order, thank you and the cylinders will be winging their way to you tomorrow. I'll drop you an e-mail with the tracking details tomorrow evening.
Our next two cylinders will indeed be 2-minute 100tpi issues from the Edison Two-minute Grand Opera catalogue. We've had quite a bit of feedback from previous purchasers of our cylinders saying they would prefer not to have the composite cylinders but rather have them as individual two-minute cylinders; so that is what we will do.
All the best and enjoy the cylinders when they arrive.

Dear Valecnik,
We have a couple on hand but it remains to be seen which ones come out better through the digital process to create the moulds.
Amongst those being considerd are
B9 O Kehr Zuruck - sung by Anton Van Rooy
B12 Celesta Aida - sung by Florencio Constantino
B13 Priesleid from Meistersinger sung by Heinrich Knote
B28 Aria Del Paggio - sung by Josephine Jacoby
There may be others that we will find in good condition during the year.
All the best

I have these records, and they are excellent. I agree with some of the members, it would be nice to have them on 2 minute format to play on the period machines. The music is just marvelous. Very good job, well done! I have all of these Masters Series so far, and am looking forward to the next ones.

Re: FOR SALE: Two New Cylinders From the CLPGS
Thank you all for those kind words - it is nice to know our efforts are appreciated.
When we started the Masters Series about four years ago we really didn't know what the market for newly-made operatic cylinders would be.I must say, however, we have been constantly suprised by the response from collectors around the world and we will carry on making them for as long as people want us to and we can source the original cylinders in decent condition.
I'm quite looking forward to producing two-minute cylinders as this would also open up the fabulous Pathé cylinder catalogue to our shameless plundering but we'll wait to see how the first two ex-Edison titles sell first. All we need to do is simply cover our costs, as this is a labour of love rather than a profit making venture before we can carry on making the next pair of cylinders.
All the best and thanks to every one for their continuing support.

Of those four my top two would be B9 & B28 as the other two are available on BA by the same artists and I have them. Still the two minute versions are of course unique recordings, a bit earlier and I look forward to purchasing any of the options above.Wagnerian wrote:Dear Valecnik,

I'm anxiously awaiting the two new issues, hoped they'd arrive in the post today but I guess it will be next week now.
