My VV-XVI ...Photos

Post by Victrolacollector »

I have always wanted an early upright and the problem was the shipping. I saw a post here on the forum for a cabinet in nearby South Bend. I had the pleasure of picking it up late last month.

I put a post on the Yankee Trader and was able to obtain the motor, turntable, crank, reproducer, tone arm, needle cup and knobs from some of our fellow collectors. They are great parts and very reasonable in comparison to what one would pay from a dealer.

The machine plays wonderful and has already amazed several family members that were over last weekend.

I will let the photos speak for themselves...

This machines performs very well on early acoustic band and opera recordings (Victor Red Seal etc.).

Again thank you to the forum and its members for their much appreciated help.

All the best,

Jerry P.

P.S. I am not sure why my photos display sideways.....If you click on them they display properly

That turned out to be a nice machine. Congratulations to saving it. My VV-XVI L-door is for whatever reason my go to machine for playing records, even though it may not be able to compete with an Orthophonic.
