Jerry I'm seeing some disturbing behavior here,

simple lunch with friends turning into a phonograph purchase,
last minute trips across the country for your next fix,
involving family, friends and neighbors in your odd activities,
spending more money than you planned to,
getting rid of furniture to accommodate this odd activity.

Isn't being a PHONOHOLIC great. Everyday a new adventure knowing any day can be like Christmas.

Seriously, great machine, I've never seen one like it before. These are the type of machines that make a interesting collection.

When you said "console" phonograph, I was thinking some type of Victrola... who needs another one?

But when I scrolled to the pics, it was a no-brainer... get rid of furniture or appliances and other common machines to make room for an exceptionally beautiful and unusual machine. I love the great quality and styling of this machine. Sometimes the less common machines are much more desirable (at least to me) than those you see on a regular basis... There is no Victor, Edison, Columbia or Sonora that outclasses this.

You didn't make a mistake buying it. Now, someone go get the Opera House phonograph... before the guy changes his mind.

I had a somewhat similar thought... I encouraged Jay to buy it. He replied that he's have to get rid of the bed in his extra bedroom. I suggested he buy a pad and have his guests sleep on top of the Orsenigo.

TinfoilPhono, Thanks for the tip on Bob Baumbach's article on Orsenigos in the Antique Phonograph. I know I read the article when it first arrived but not with the eye of an owner (translation = heavy lifter).

Apparently Orsenigo made the Columbia Gothic cabinets among others and when their popularity declined, Orsenigo began branding the cabinets with their logo, hence the Columbia pagoda light and the Columbia style lid lift...

We think that is a rare find and very cool. Really like the paintings and carving on the front.

Great looking machine and in wonderful condition. How does it sound?

Hi Jerry,

Many of us have seen this cabinet style before, but we just walked by them without realizing what they were. I think Jasper has (only) two cabinets like this --- one is a phonograph, while the other is a "buffet" or other such piece of furniture (if my memory serves me correctly). They are/were located on the first floor, to the left and right of the grand staircase. As you now realize, these are very common . Congratulations!!!
