FOUND: 1 door knob for a Victor VV-IV

Post by hearsedriver »

I am in need of one door knob for a VV-IV. If you have an extra, original knob laying around, please contact me. Thanks!

There are variations of these knobs. The earliest ones had a dowel screw that was machined into the knob. The other end had a wood screw that went into the door. These frequently got lost. The second and later version had a machine screw that went through the door into the knob. The earlier set up was from 1911-1913 or '14. I'm not sure of the diameters if they are the same or not.

Walt Sommers, the Victrola guy sells these on ebay. They are spot on. I bought a set a few years ago and paid $14.95 plus shipping.

Are they the same size knob as on your IX? Your measurement is confusing... less than ½ inch? In nearly 50 years of off- and- on collecting I've never seen a Victor knob that small.

Yeah, the Vic IV door pulls are tiny -- considerably smaller than the more common Victor door pulls/motor board knobs, etc.

I am not sure if Walt's are the correct size. The small VV-IV knobs are tiny compared to the VV-VI.

Check with Walt, but you can also check with Ron Sitko or George Vollema. It seems that if Ron don't have it, George is almost guaranteed to have it.

All the best,

Jerry P.
