Found: Zither/Banjo attachment for a 15.5" Reginaphone

Post by phonospud »

Looking for a zither/banjo attachment for my style 150 Reginaphone. The one in the photo is not mine, but an exact example. This is an assembly which partially goes underneath the combs. You can see the control linkage circled in red. Does anyone have one they could liberate from their stash, or...loan me one so I can duplicate it myself?

For anyone who can help me replicate this by kindly loaning me a good complete one, I could make it worth your while!

VERY FEW enthusiasts fabricate or produce more accurate replica parts than me! (shameless self promotion) :P

Many thanks in advance!!

Darren

Thanks for posting the photos! Yours is an earlier Regina, I'm guessing 1899-1902 approx. Mine is a late 1907. Interesting!

Factory records indicate it shipped out to the dealer (Sherman Clay, here in San Francisco) on September 8, 1897. There used to be a service, where you mailed the serial number and a couple of bucks to some guy who had a copy of the Regina factory books. He would send you back a card with the shipping date and destination.

We have a similar service today, where you post the serial number of your Edison phono here, and hope that a) George Paul sees the posting, and b) your machine falls within the scope of the records he holds.

Please post pix of the one you found. It will be fun to compare the two styles.
