This is one of those auctions I would love to attend someday. Alas, I no longer have the room or the time.

Just after the 29 minute mark in the preview video, there is a large Victor RAE record changer unit.
Can someone tell me the model and what it sold for?
I could not find it in the "prices realized" link.

Thank you,
Gene

I doubt if the Opera was a steal at $500 since Steve Oliphant probably spelled wrong) was there A friend of mind said he bought most of cylinders.

The oak Edison Opera sold at the auction for $500 according to the auction realized price listing (the specific lot number with its realized price is below). Most would consider that a 'steal' for an Edison Opera in almost any condition.

The Edison Opera that can be seen in the video at 27:00 into the video provided by the auction house here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEMlJRB ... e=youtu.be definitely does not appear to be junk although, admittedly, we cannot see under the lid. Presuming there was a correct Edison Opera motor and most of the Edison Opera upper works present then this was an excellent deal at $500 for whomever the winning bidder was IMHO.

What?? An Edison Opera for 500 bucks?
Not a steal? Get it, fix it up, take it to Union
and put a $5000 price tag on it. Sounds fair to me! :)
