Hello everyone I'm new to the group and glad to be here.
If you had to choose between a Victor M or a Victor III? Which would it be? Just curious...
BTW...I have both and I still haven't decided which I like better!
If you had to choose...

Personally, I like a front mount M, but an MS would be preferable...

On my bucket list for when I fall into a bunch of money would be a rear mount fancy case MS or fancy case D. So in your case I would probably prefer the M, just for being older and more unusual.

An interesting choice. The M is an earlier machine which makes it nice, but I have never felt the base of the M looked balanced. Kind of the poor mans MS or an MS with something missing. Sort of decorated and sort of not decorated. But that is just me and they both are a great machines. I personally like the look of the III better, but it isn't a choice I would want to have to make.

The Victor III is a very classy looking machine and has a great motor. The lettered machines tend to have noisier motors. It is also a more classy looking machine. It depends if you just want one or is this a start to being a collector(with no known cure

For playing a lot of records, I prefer a Vic III. The motors are improved, smoother, and quieter. I also like the Victor M, because of the gingerbread molding on the case. To me, the Victor M is for playing an occasional record. Just my thoughts.

The above two posts are good recommendations. I also prefer the Victor III.

Re: If you had to choose...
I would definitely get a III (although I am fonder of a humpback II) for playing records, but the front mount M looks classic even if it doesn't play worth a darn, especially with a concert reproducer...

If my choice was between a Victor III and a Victor M in the same condition, I'd take the Victor III. The III has a much better motor and I prefer the styling. How did the MS get in the question? Jerry Blais
