Model C reproducer stylus help requested

Post by glennsmga »

Hi Everyone. I have an Edison model C reproducer. The sapphire stylus came off the stylus bar and is lost. Does anyone know a Canadian source for the sapphire stylus or a complete stylus bar with stylus? Additionally is it possible to take a stylus off an old stereao cartridge and somehow graft it onto the edison stylus bar? I have several old "turn over" stereo cartridges with good stylii. Any ideas on how to make my edison model c reproducer work again? Thanks, Glenn in Ontario Canada

You can purchase a sapphire mounted to a new bar from Ron Sitko. His price is about $35.00 U.S. It is well worth the cost to buy this as an assembly because all you need to do is mount the new bar in place of the old and you're ready to go - no tedious work mounting the stylus to the bar and no risk of losing the sapphire during the process. Plus the cost of the assembly is only a few dollars more than an unmounted sapphire.

Ron does everything the old fashioned way, by phone - no website or email. Call him at 518-371-8549.

Good luck and welcome to the board.
Jim
