Wow Bill...!

A spectacular group with a dream provenance. That A-300 cabinet is one of the 100 Circassian Walnut cabinets manufactured by the Pooley Furniture Company as ordered on December 22, 1909 and first announced to the public (encasing Amberola Phonographs) on May 10, 1910.

A cache of materials like that - to say nothing of the machine - is a once-in-a-lifetime acquisition. Congratulations!

What a fantastic story indeed! Congratulations. It looks to be in beautiful original condition too! Interestingly it has the volume control which mine never appears to have had.

Could you share the serial nos on the bed plate and the data tag?

Bruce; Here are some pictures of the I.D. plate and the stamping on the bed plate. As you can see, the serial number stamped on the bedplate matches the I.D. plate, but the other number on the bedplate usually matches the model number on the I.D. plate. But instead of A-300, the stamping says A-1. I imagine that because these were converted A-1 cabinets that they stamped this bedplate as such. Does your A-300 have the same stamping on the bedplate, or does it have the A-300 designation? I have also included a picture of the unusual slide arm for the muffler volume control. I have personally never seen such an set-up on any Diamond Disc.
