For discs, my E.M.Ginn Expert Minor. As well as being the best player in my collection it has an electric motor, so laziness is also a factor!
For cylinders, my Amberola 50. Rock solid reliable with a strong motor and no belt to give trouble.
For outdoor use at car shows I take it in turns with my 20 or so portables, but my red leather HMV 102 with gilt fittings stays at home!

The D-X is certainly not optimal, as it is prone to "fluttering"; I will eventually procure a nice Amberola V as an upgrade.

I've changed out all my cylinder belt machines with it, and it's made a big difference in each case.

Have a good day!

No I haven't ordered any yet (I keep meaning to and promptly forget.)
The problem with the D-X is an inherent one. It plays fine and keeps time, but when compared to a V, there's just no comparison. George P. and I did a BA comparison between my D-X, an VIII, Triumph with cygnet horn, and a Standard D (IIRC) with cygnet horn. The V handily came in first, with the Triumph a very close second. The Standard and the VIII were pretty much a tie, IMHO.
The D-X wasn't even in the race.
Best,

For most acoustic discs, and 12 inch discs, my Columbia BI.
For 10 inch electric discs, my Edison P-1.
For Diamond Discs, my C-250.

I use my VV8-30X most of the time otherwise it's a toss up between a HMV 163 and a VV-XIV.

I'm a little late chiming in.
Acoustic: Victor V with speartip horn
Electric: Victor V with modified Orthophonic Reproducer
Cylinder: Edison Triumph with O reproducer and Cygnet horn
For the modified Orthophonic reproducer, I removed the rubber insert and replaced it with a new Victrola #2 rubber insert. I don't have ant large floor model Orthophonic machines.
