Hi Fran,
I stumbled upon this forum in the process of researching the victrola we have with the intention of selling it. Was trying to find out what it might be worth and how to find someone who might be interested. But anyway, I thought you might like to have my info for your database in the meantime. I don't know much about these machines so a couple of your questions I can't answer and have entered a question mark.
1. Model Designation: (C-250 or C-19): C-250
2. Serial Number: SM-67065
3. Bedplate Pinstriping: Y/N: ?
4. "Official Laboratory" Medallion: Round/Pentagonal/None: Round
5. Exact Wording of the Medallion: Please be precise (Abbreviated signature, for example): The Model 250 Diamond Disc Phonograph is the Official Laboratory Model. Thos. A. Edison
6. Record Storage: Drawers or Shelves?: drawers
7. Cabinet Wood Type: Mahogany or Oak?: oak
8. Duncan Stop?: Y/N: ?
9. Dealer Tag: Name/Address, Location On Machine : Windsor Music Co. Tarentum, PA, inside lid

Welcome to the BEST forum on the web, and don't be afraid to ask any questions.
If you conduct a search of our posts, you'll find a world of information, on an incredible variety of talking machines.
*EDITED* 1-26-2017 11:00 AM*
I'll elaborate for you, on a couple of my survey questions:
The so-called "Duncan Stop" (it was actually designated by the Edison company as the "Edison Electric Automatic Stop") is found on C 250's that were produced between January 1917 (around SN 27,659) through July 1918 (around SN 63,373), also it has been observed with the "William and Mary" (W 250), and has been reported to have been provided with the "Art" models.
It was installed at the factory, but also a "kit" was sold so that end-users could convert their existing machines, but I have no information just how many kits may have been marketed and used. The system used a modified reproducer that had a socket at the rear of the reproducer hinge block, so that a wire would be connected between the reproducer and an electrical solenoid mounted to the motor plate, under the turntable .
Instead of 2 levers providing the start/stop operations, the E.A.S. provided only 1 lever that functioned as both start and stop.
Using this information, you can quickly identify whether or not the electric stop is present on any Diamond Disc Phonograph model.
In regard to the "pinstriping" inquiry (I should have used the term "motor plate" instead of "bedplate" in this early version of the survey), this is pertaining to the decorative gold pinstripe found on the earlier C 250 -- around the perimeter of the top of the motor plate. About the same time as the E.A.S. was provided on the C 250, the pinstripe seems to have disappeared. None of the Chippendale Upright units that I believe to be as originally equipped, have this pinstripe after the E.A.S. was included in the manufacture.
If you'd like to view the latest updated version of my survey -- which is much more comprehensive than the earliest version found on page 1 of this thread -- a link is here: http://forum.talkingmachine.info/viewto ... 90#p164890
Best,
Fran
