I'm looking for a no. 6 dry cell battery for the Electric Automatic Stop feature on my C-250 Edison diamond disc phonograph; either a vintage one correct for the 1918ish time period (Columbia Red label, etc.) for display purposes or a replica that utilizes two size D batteries. Please let me know if you have these type of batteries for sale or where I may find them.
Thanks,
AR

Dan,
Yeah, that's the type but I was hoping to find something a lot cheaper.

Someone on eBAY was selling those with the core removed and replaced with a couple of replaceable D cells. They were only about $35 as I recall. Unfortunately I don't see them there now. Maybe someone here bought one and remembers the seller.

Adolfo,
I see Radiolaguy doesn't build his replica No.6 dry cell batteries any longer, but he does sell the labels. http://www.radiolaguy.com/Batteries/Vin ... teries.htm
I found a different seller that sells replicas with a blank label. http://www.kensclockclinic.com/products ... 6-battery/
I also found a guide for building your own No.6. http://kd4hsh.homestead.com/Making-No-6-02.pdf
A great website with lots of info on the No.6 http://www.prc68.com/I/No6.shtml
Best of luck,
Fran

Did you see this post where 2 batteries were found inside a machine? Maybe one would be available. You never know.

I would post a wanted on the Antique Radio Forum. I know that there's quite a few members who make replicas for their early battery radio sets. I'm sure someone would either be able to assemble one or maybe even have some pre-made. Here's the link: http://antiqueradios.com/forums/index.p ... e64147ea25

Hopefully someone remembers the guy that sold them on ebay with the core removed and replaced with a couple of replaceable D cells. That sounds like a good deal for $35.
Thanks everyone for all of the information and suggestions. I have a couple of options to pursue.

Radiolaguy, as it turns out, was the one selling his repros on eBAY.apruizii wrote:Hopefully someone remembers the guy that sold them on ebay with the core removed and replaced with a couple of replaceable D cells. That sounds like a good deal for $35.
