OK, I have been in this hobby for many years. I never saw an Edison Suitcase Home this expensive before . Despite all the reproducers, what justifies this price? Am I missing something? Is there something super rare that I am missing? From a novice standpoint, I think this seller is dreaming hoping he will find a sucker. Any thoughts?

He needs to list the s/n of all he has. Some might be rare but now one knows without a better description. I think the $4000 he said might be fair but this is still unknown without a better description and pictures. I would like better info on the machine. and a better pic of the horn. He is way overpriced and needs to break up the listing. Tom B
Admittedly, the 9 reproducers (including a Blackman and Standard Speaker) are enticing...and the phonograph does present very nicely. But as mentioned by others, the price is high. I'm guessing the seller is hoping that someone will make an offer less than $10,750 but still one that they can't refuse and it will be gone. Personally, I wouldn't mind owning the reproducers. Since I already have an exceptional early Edison suitcase Home, if I were the buyer of this outfit (at a fair offer price accepted by the seller) I would keep all of the reproducers except one and resell or trade off the machine.
Harvey's right - the description is the best part. A few days ago a friend and I were laughing about various parts of this writeup. If I were writing a comedic piece designed to mangle fact and smear it with fiction, I could do no better. The cherry on top is his justification of the price:
"Now if you think about what I'll be paying EBay and PayPal for fees and the shipping and high Insurance cost after what I paid for this treasure to bring it to you all out there on the internet you'll see the price is pretty cheap really."

I just had an idea. Instead of listing my reproducers one by one, maybe I should pick out one of my early Homes or Standards and list it along with several unique reproducers. What a great idea wish I had thought of it. Don't know if I can come up with such an Imaginative description. Then the price, well I guess 2-3 times the actual value for starters should do. So how about this:

Just an observation... when you do write it, use some separate paragraphs and don't run it all together with the history of TAE along with other unnecessary information. I had a hard time reading this guy's description, which reminded me of the style used to promote some new testosterone replacement therapy...
Regarding the original listing, is it just me or does this machine look like it was refinished with polyurethane? Too shiny...
