I think it's funny how they think it's so creative and unique. Nearly everyone who repurposes has the same idea and turns a phono into a wine/storage cabinet.

Painting is also not everyones forte, but it clearly doesn't stop anyone!

Personally, even if it's been painted, I wouldn't want to eat or drink from the inside of a phonograph. It seems like serving food from under the hood of a car

I was giddy with excitement that it had all the original parts; the turn table, needle and arm and of course the cool crank on the side!

Spare me. Giddy with excitement, then trashed it.

I wanted a color that was both bold and fun but classy all at once.

Red and gray. Classy.

Glass knobs were added for a touch of class and the original brand name was put back on the inside which I made with my Silhouette cutting tool.

Touch of class. Again. Got it. And how nice to save the brand name while trashing the entire unit.

All of these people have been taught that recycling/repurposing is a good thing to save the planet... It's a good idea when it comes to trash, but they need to be taught to preserve antique artifacts instead of turning them into an art project... Just think, these poor machines were saved from scrap metal drives in the past by previous owners only to be turned into real trash by giddy new owners... Now, the thing is ultimately destined for the landfill...

Well, here's the thing, they tried to sell it as a phonograph and found no buyers. Maybe they priced it too high, who knows. Anyway, they had this phonograph they didn't want and apparently, nobody else did either. At phono auctions I go to, this would sell for $5, maybe $10, and would get stripped out for its hardware, with the cabinet going for firewood. (I'm not making that up either) So, is this plight better? Maybe not, but you just can't make people want this stuff. Therefore, lacking any appreciation, or taste, you get the item shown here. Just really sad when others follow this lead and destroy a really nice machine, as we've all seen examples of...
