Post by DonleyAuctions »

BEAUTIFUL Wurlitzer Jukebox Model 1015, 78 RPM Restored

This is an original Wurltizer jukebox, Serial # 1022732. This jukebox was totally restored by Frank Zygmundt out of Westmont, IL, roughly 20 years ago. Many people have said this is the best box Frank ever did. Still looks and sounds fabulous! No coin mechanism or grinder present. This machine plays on Free-Play only. Comes with a set of American Hot Wax 78 RPM records. Lock and key for back door, and key for volume control are present, however there is no lock or key for the front door. Plays and selects well, and is ready to adorn your rec room, saloon, or man-cave!

This item is up for AUCTION on Saturday, March 18 with Donley Auctions in Union, IL. Go to DonleyAuctions.com for more information.

I think you know that this machine shouldn't be on this forum.

Since this Wurlitzer is part of a large vintage music auction, mixed in with various phonographs, it's "six of one kind half a dozen of another" if it should be here or not. After all we've had discussions of early RCA Electrolas & Capeharts on this forum.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Agree with Damfino! Like it says on the masthead, "For all Antique Phonographs & Recordings." It's undeniably an antique phonograph, and moreover it plays 78s.

Plus it looks like a million dollars. Love 'em!

We talk about electronic phonographs all the time and we talk about coin operated phonographs which are highly collectible. Why not a coin operated electronic phonograph? Is there a set of rules that forbids juke boxes?

A beautiful machine and I only wish I had a space to put one of these in my house. It would be a great addition to my phonograph collection. A friend in Portland has a great collection of both phonographs and Jukeboxes. It is a visual and aural treat to go there.

Thank you for your comments! If this is not allowed, I apologize. I did not see that in the rules.

As you know, the Multiphone was a precursor to the modern jukebox. We have BOTH of these beauties in the auction on March 18. I'm sure you can appreciate how far we've come with technology!

Thanks again for your feedback!
