I found this on craigslist a couple of weeks ago for $250. I decided to go check it out and I ended up buying it. I am not too familiar with this model and was wondering if $250 was a good price. It has a strong motor and plays really loud! Also, some more info on this machine would be great! Thanks.
Here are some pictures of it-

Here's a start:

Yours looks very nice! Turntable felt and gold finish look fine! $250.00 was very reasonable, IMO. I hope you enjoy it!

Congratulations! In its day that was a pretty high end model and it looks to be in great condition. With the 4 spring motor you can play quite a while before rewinding.

I'll just echo what others have said - nice machine, and one that doesn't surface often.
One thing... I've noticed a rash lately of people on other online forums referring to their "Victor XVI" or "Victor XI," and it makes me wince. They're VICTROLAS. Victors have external horns; Victrolas have internal horns. And when it comes to a IV or a VI, there's a huge difference between each type.
I'd encourage everyone - especially newer collectors - to avoid this bad habit.
Best to all,
George P.

Nice find!
I have some family friends whose grandparents own a VE-111 in fantastic original condition. It's only a few towns away, but I have yet to see it in person.

Looks great! You got a real good deal there. Congratulations. With that big horn size/opening, it should sound great, too, if the sound box is in good restored condition.

Thanks for the information on this machine! When I saw this Victrola I thought it looked more of a higher end model in comparison to my XI, and after looking it over, I could not leave without it!
Thanks again!
In regards to your advice George, I will be sure to make note of this in the future!phonogfp wrote:I'll just echo what others have said - nice machine, and one that doesn't surface often.
