Help on a Mexican Blue Amberol again

Post by nalanotrig »

I am still unable to find any information on one of the Mexican records my Dad had. #22126 La Verdulera (M. Rosales)
A website online by Henry Konig? in 2016 had numbers before and after but not that one. The Complete Catalouge in 3 volumes by Carter and Worthington in 1962 has numbers before and after, but not that one. Is it the only record made? It the only one left? Being in the catalog or on the website list has nothing to do with popularity, just existence.
IF anyone can find something about and share that information, it would be appreciated. My email is "[email protected]". Hope to hear from someone about this. :?

Alan Sutton's Blue Amberol book lists your cylinder. It was recorded in Mexico City and originally released on 4m wax Amberol 6126 in February 1911. "La verdulera", by Maximiano Rosales.

Sutton's wax Amberol book gives the additional details that it was recorded between April and June 1909, adds "Escena popular" to the title and notes that it is a speech, and Rosales is credited as the composer.
