L-51 Bordeaux Red. Technically not correct for '54 since it was only used in '49-'50 but it's my favorite original VW color by far. It also reminds me of the Bordeaux Red '50 I restored when I was in high school.

I'm a regular on Thesamba.

I agree- it's a nice color. I'm into Mercedes as well and they have a "Dark Bordeaux Red" which is the color of my 1972 280SEL 4.5 with Cognac interior... one of M-Bs better combos.

What handle are you under over there? You can PM it if you'd rather. I've been a regular there since the VW Planet days but us Type 3 geeks don't get out of our forum much... plus I have been avoiding it because I really need to get a bunch of work done and out this spring and summer. It's even better for wasting time than the TMF is!

All those machines sitting on the table with their horns look like baby birds waiting to be fed.

I like seeing the photo of the variations of Edison Standard A, only made from 1898-1901, and subtle differences.

If any one wants I can post some pics of the slight differences in some of the machines.. Not all are exact copies. There are differences in s/n postings ,to cases ,to motors. Tom B

Sure! Like to see where mine fits in, or how modified it is.
