Here is another suggestion for collectors who have common machines that want to "re-cycle" them:
If the phonograph is in playable condition, or can be fixed with minor repairs, offer it for little or no cost to a young collector or someone new to the hobby. They may see it as a wonderful old machine worth preserving. Collectors could also consider taking a phonograph that has little or no value to them to a phonograph show and offering it for free to someone just getting started in the hobby. Remember to include a few of the records typically played on it too with some needles.
To use a pun, this is my opinion, just for the record.
