Real or fake?

Post by Dedrums »

Just found this in a antique store close to home. It says horn elbow needs repair . Nipper to me on the tag looks to big so I ask fake or real. Looks too nice to be real.

Definitely fake. Some parts like the tone arm may be vintage, but even the reproducer is on the wrong side. Lots of bad fakes being passed off as real.

As others have noted -- FAKE -- phony. That's a classic Crap-O-Phone, missing it's horn elbow.

If you google "crap-o-phone" you'll come up with a number of sites that describe these monstrosities and provide illustrations showing the various types.
