Only paid £20 plus postage for this machine!

Post by 12jslater »

I brought a Columbia 202 around a month ago for £20 and after re-dying the case and putting rexine polish for guitar amps on , she looks lovely, and plays like knew, the pot metal horn assembly had swollen and I carefully filed down all holes and put a thin coat of epoxy in each hole to give a smooth surface for the joints to move in, I might do this on more machines. All together it cost £24 as I already had everything for it except I order in some gaskets. The isolator is original and perfect!

Sorry, the videos quiet.

For £20, I'd say you got a great deal! Looks nice, good work :-)

Thanks, it was sold as a "78 gramaophone and player" and I have spelt gramophone wrong on purpose. Any way it was poorly pictured with around 20 78's which where sent with the gramophone 13 of them survived the Royal Mail and the entire case had a thick layer of white dead and dry mould, and if I'm honest I have never smelt anything worse than when I wet it to clean the case I am usually resilient to gaging, however I could not walk within 4 feet of it as I would heave, I brushed the case after cleaning with a mixture of odourless thinners and lavender oil and it smells pleasant to say the least.
