My comment is somewhat tongue in cheek, as I realize that throughout history music and art have been criticized based on previous performances, opinions and values. At one time, Mozart was considered to be too modern to be respected and Vincent Van Gogh was thought of as an inferior cartoonish painter.... (they caused him so much grief from the criticism, that he felt compelled to cut off his ear)
I appreciate the GO videos on a creative level, but hope that automobile noises and random noise making never gets popular... it just seems to be one more step into an illogical reality...
The Beatles and Motown were considered to be over the top at one point, BUT it took a huge amount of talent to compose and arrange their songs which have now become classics in their own right... Also, consider ABBA and their talent, all of which involved musical instruments and vocal talent, not banging metal objects hanging from cars...
TAE might just have overlooked and accepted this new trend, since he was deaf anyway...

But after listening to "The Old Oaken Bucket", I don't think so...
