WANTED: Cylinder Shaver
Looking for a plain but functional cylinder shaver. My experiments with cylinder recording are at a standstill without one.

Re: WANTED: Cylinder Shaver
What type of shaver? Is it one to fit on the carriage on the Model A Standard, Home, or Model A/B Triumph? Is it a commercial shaver made by Edison? Or, the Edison Home Model shaver, not to be confused with the machine? There is also a Dictaphone and Ediphone shaver. As you can see, there are many different types.

Re: WANTED: Cylinder Shaver
Start checking Craigslist. Usually after a while
you can find an electric-motor powered Dictaphone
shaver for not much money.
Typically those are usually in quite rough shape
after sitting in a garage or basement for 50 years.
But if the feed screw is intact and not hopelessly rusted,
and if it has not been dropped from a ten-story building
down on to the sidewalk, they usually clean up very well
and come back to life nicely.
I paid $25 for my last Craigslist Dictaphone shaver.
Got it working fine after a 72-hour marathon cleaning
out the mouse-nest, oiling, shining up, etc.

Re: WANTED: Cylinder Shaver
Probably a Dictaphone or Ediphone Shaver would be suitable.

I would also consider a carriage arm with a shaver for an Edison Home Phonograph.

Am in Fort Myers, FL, but make several trips to Ohio each year. I could pick up items anywhere along I-75 on the way.
