Very nice, everyone! By the way Jerry, do you happen to know the name of the person who made that wood horn?

I've seen an HMV model 97 in this faux sharkskin finish I saved the pics for just a moment such like this!...

and a columbia 211
columbia 211 greenspot sharkskin.JPG
they are not as nice as yours though

Unfortunately both these machines have been recovered and are not original . HMV would never have a black inside to a a machine of this type and the Columbia would have had a transfer on the back , BOTH RECOVERED !

The case dimensions are identical to the UK Columbia 204 and HMV 97, but the fittings and finish are more elaborate. In particular, the lid stay and record carrier hark back to pre-EMI Columbia designs.

Clearly original with the transfer on top of the material ! If it is so !

Well, that makes three then. And it seems like my wartime guess may have some merit.

Gramtastic & Brian,

I love those oddball internal horn machines. Personally, they are so interesting. :)

That two-horned machine with the top wind is awesome! I'm intrigued by the influx of portables with rare covers and finishes. Your machines are all very neat, guys!
