Wanted: Tonearm For Rear Mount Victor M

Post by Joe Busam »

I would like to buy a tone arm for my Victor M. When I purchased this machine in 1966 it came with an improper tone arm. As you can see the current arm is an inverted one from an internal horn Victor. I don't need the entire assembly. Just the tapered tube. Thanks.

I've got an arm in gold so it would need to be nickel plated. Let me know if you are interested. Jerry Blais

The search has been called off. It has been brought to my attention that not only is the tonearm incorrect but the back mounting bracket may also be incorrect and is smaller than the typical bracket that came with the M originally. This swap out may be why a shorter tonearm was replaced as the true tone arm would be much too long. With all this information I've decided to call off the search as it now appears I would also need to locate a proper size bracket. Having to purchase that (assuming I could find one) in addition to the tone arm would be more expense than I would be willing to undertake. I've owned this machine since 1966. It plays perfectly and after all these years, I think I'll continue to enjoy it as is. Thanks to everyone who responded.
