Leather elbows

Is there any articles on the subject of leather horn elbows? How they were made, what machines used which elbow, difference between black and brown leather?

Good question. I always wondered if there was a distinction between the brown and black leather elbows as to which machine they go to. I have seen more brown leather elbows on Canadian machines in collections. I wonder if that is part of it?
