I don't know much about "1898 Thomas Edison cylinder phonographs", but when I saw this on Craig's list, I thought there might be some interest in it. There are 17 photos in the ad.

Looks like a good deal... wondering what "horn included, but not for this phonograph" means...
"The phonograph is not of any commercial value."

It means that they think it doesn't go to the machine being sold, but it's included anyway.

This thing has been out there on CL for weeks (two adv.s running at the same time for awhile - one @ $100 and the other @ $150). One of our TMF members contacted the supposed seller, but got nowhere. Possible scam???

That figures... too good to be true... the horn is worth $250-300 alone (maybe more if the condition is good)...Pathé Logical wrote:This thing has been out there on CL for weeks (two adv.s running at the same time for awhile - one @ $100 and the other @ $150). I snagged this a few weeks ago, not sure why the listing is still up. Here it is after a quick refinish, showcasing the aforementioned horn.
