Anyone recognize this machine..?

I asked the seller but no response.

I think I can see a trademark on the inside of the lid on the bottom moulding. It appears to be the blue parrot, which is the mark of a "Dulcetto" machine. If it is, they are not bad machines, not the best in the world, but certainly not the worst!

Thanks - the seller responded and apologized for omitting the name/model. Guess will know when he gets back from a trip. It does look different.

In the 1920's Dulcetto was the brand name of the British Polyphon Company. Here is their usual lid transfer :

Seller responded. " Regarding your question as to make and serial number. There are two plates on the inside of the cover. The larger one says 'Chappell Piano Co. Ltd,' serial number J2628  Chappell, which still exists, commenced operations in 1840, but I did not see that they manufactured gramophones. There is a second smaller plate, which frankly is difficult for me to read. I believe it says 'E. Power Furst & Co.' There is other writing under that, but even with a magnifying glass and flashlight I am unsure as to what it says. I hope that this is helpful.

Chappell's were not gramophone manufacturers but they were sales agents, notably for Cliftophone gramophones and Brunswick records, which were labelled as Brunswick-Cliftophones in the UK.

I could be wrong, but I don't think it's Cliftophone, because they usually had the unusual horizontal soundboxes. It's more likely to be an "off brand" that Chappell's marketed under their own name.

You are probably right. Starting to get confusing with these off-brand machines, especially when its a off-brand of a off-brand... I'm restoring a Humanola at the moment and that will be it for me, time to retire from the hobby, if that's possible. Cheers
