Off topic of machines, but union qiestion
Thinking of flying from Louisiana to union. Looks like cheapest route is Houston to Chicago. Is there anyone willing to pick me up and bring me to union? ive never been up there before so I have no idea how it would work. I guess I'd have to get a ride from airport to union then hopefully get a hotel room there. Then get ride to airport Sunday for return trip. Follow up question: can I bring a phonograph as a carry on? Haha

I'd be able to pick you up from Chicago on the way, if you're flying in that Thursday.

You'll probably need to look at hotels a bit further out this close to the show date, most are completely booked. I'm staying at the Candlewood Suites in Elgin which is about 20 min from the show. I definitely wouldn't just show up hoping to find a room, call first.

I used to do it that way and try to hitch rides to and from the show, but I found it's just much more convenient to rent a car. No long waiting and hoping for rides. And often you have to be at the airport early for the return flight.

If you're into camping and backpacking there's a KOA next door to the Union show. Seems KOA's always have room for another tent even at the last minute.
