I thought I might update this thread with the 2 parts of History Detectives you were talking about. I found it very interesting. I hope you do too.

Not a record--but related river dumping. I have the empty cabinet from a Yale Automatic Cashier and Discount Machine, out of Burlington, Vermont. It was mentioned that the company took "stuff" and had thrown it into the fast currents of the Burlington river---fast and efficient---until they found a buyer that moved it to I believe Illinois and renamed it--The Almy Company.

I have a PADI Scuba Diver certification.I'd have to have a PADI divemaster go with me in the Milwaukee River to see if we can find anything.Perhaps in a deeper part of the river.edisonplayer

On the other hand, if a huge number of them survived intact, they wouldn't be worth so much... Like the Red Label one sided Victors in excellent condition...

There is a large number of middling worth Paramounts around - just not so much from the 'Race' series.

Almost every one of the race series Paramounts that I have seen are in poor condition looking like they were played to death with rusty nails...

Of course it would be fascinating to see what, if anything, is still there. I don't know that I would hold much hope of any that may be there still being in good, playable condition.

I doubt that after all this time in the river, they would even be recognizable, since they used sawdust filler in them. The stampers might still be intact, but probably buried in tons of silt...

I'd imagine the stampers would be rusted ? Probably eaten by rust. The Paramount discs, yes they had cheap stuff in them, I've heard it was sand that was used as filler, which is why they wore so badly.
