Need Help With Identifying Early Cranks

Post by GeorgeDixon »

Black Crank - Brass Shaft, Steel Handle
Small Crank - All Brass, Nickel Plate

They came with other early items.
Any help would be appreciated.

I think the short crank is for a suitcase Home (although I don't see a slot) and the longer crank for a long green Home or green Model A Standard. Jerry B.

Thanks Jerry,

It was suggested when I purchased the short one that it could be off a coin-op.

The black one is heavy due to the brass.

The short crank looks like a dramatically cut-down Hawthorne & Sheble originally used with their under-glass cabinets. I can't imagine what machine someone might have altered an H&S crank to fit with such a short shaft.

I am probably way off, but it looks like a music box crank to me.

Does the mystery crank have an internal thread? It looks like it has a through hole.
