These are one-sided, 7" resin copies. A couple are possibly made from the only surviving copies. Sound quality is at least as good as the originals (many say it's better). They will play on a wind-up with steel needles up to 80*F and are very hard, yet slightly flexible.
These are produced when I have the time, and what you see below is what is currently available, future batches will follow. Price is $20 each, plus $3.50 shipping in the USA. Paypal "friends and family" or check/money orders are accepted.
Please note that the Harvard copy of Liberty Bell March has a skip. The rest are in at least VG+ condition.

Zonophone 1583 (Drill Ye Tarriers, Drill) - do you know who the singer is on this one?

Those records look great, Donnie. I hope you are marking them somehow on the back side so they will not be mistaken for original records.

The same thought crossed my mind. Anyone who knows anything about these records would immediately know they're not original when handling them. Will some noobs get duped? Maybe, but I worked *really* hard to make a nice copy that collectors would appreciate, at a low price.

PM sent.
I'm very glad you're offering these! They look great.
I'm not sure if you're up to it, but if you made a video or audio file featuring samples of each, I'm sure I'd be tempted to buy more.

Thank you!
Here's a link to a copy I made of Perfect labels version of "Charleston". This at least gives you an idea of the quality. More videos will come, as will several surprises

The copies certainly look nice, and I have no problem making such nice reproductions available to those who don't have originals.donniej wrote:Thank you George!phonogfp wrote:Those records look great, Donnie. I'm not quite so sanguine concerning people (noobs or advanced collectors) being duped. There are very rare Berliner test pressings made of stiff celluloid that don't feel like typical pressings. If I were to encounter one of your pressings at a show, I hope I wouldn't be misled into thinking I had just discovered one of these rare test pressings.
At the same time, many of us are concerned about attracting new collectors to our hobby. If pitfalls such as near-perfect copies of Berliners, Zonophones, and Johnson discs are floating around to fool (cheat?) the unwary/unknowing, our hobby becomes less inviting.
All this could be avoided by making a simple yet easily recognizable mark on the reverse of your discs. For instance, perfect reproduction Edison C, H, and K reproducers were manufactured back in the early 1980s. But the maker incorporated his initials in the serial numbers. Hardly noticeable, yet a classy way to protect his fellow hobbyists. I respectfully ask you to consider something similar on the reverse sides of your discs.
