For the Columbia AA, does the nut which holds the mandrel to the upper works use a left-hand or a right hand thread?
Well, while I am on the subject--what about the same mandrel nut on the Columbia BKT?
Many thanks,
Steve

The nut on my BGT is a left hand thread. I suspect they all are. Jerry B.

Re: Columbia AA Disassembly Question
The nuts used are left-handed thread. That way the mandrel will not get loose and fall off from operation. Congrats on your Columbia AA. They are scarce and nice machines.

Re: Columbia AA Disassembly Question
Jerry,
I still need to finish the motor so here is the machine without the motor for the moment. It came to me with a refinished cabinet and a decal that is not quite right, but I will leave it for the moment. I was very pleased with how the aluminum and nickel plate shined up.

That is so much cuteness in a tiny package. Thanks, Jerry Blais

Re: Columbia AA Disassembly Question
Thanks! I am really enjoying the AA. It is nice to have a machine that doesn't strip a gut to pick it up.
